As you work your way through our community group leader crash course, you’ll notice that it’s not filled with Bible questions. While we have an extraordinarily high view of the Bible and its authority and inerrancy, we firmly believe that the best group leaders in the world are people-persons. They have an ability to help outsiders feel connected, to draw quiet people out of their shells, to find and care for hurting people with uncanny accuracy, and to lead events that people want to be part of.

And so most of these questions are “case studies” that will help you think about people: Are you the type of leader who values people over your opinions? Are you the type of leader who can make people feel valued? Are you the type of leader who can get people together in fun and meaningful ways outside of a once-a-week group?

So, enjoy this crash course. It can’t cover everything, but it will help you begin to brainstorm and think like a community group leader. As you work your way through these questions, you might want to answer the questions on a google doc, and then copy-and-paste them in here once you’re finished (since this won’t allow you to save your answers).

Whenever you’re finished with the crash course, move on to the mentorship process below.
